The Kyoto station by evening (the building in front covering the whole size). The futuristic tower you see in the middle is not on a display, it's real and reflected on the windows.
10.Station * The Kyoto Station.
Opened in 1997, in spite of many complaints because of the high contrast against the traditional style aspect of the most of the city, it exhibits some futurism features, with a slightly irregular cubic facade of plate glass over a steel frame. The architect was Hiroshi Hara.
To me, it's a great piece of modern architecture :) * 3513 x 2325 * (1.44MB)

03.Kyoto.Tower * Here it is, the 60's futuristic Kyoto Tower. Same for the Tokyo tower, it is more impressive at night time than in daylight. It's 131m high (with the public observatory at 100m) and was constructed in 1964 on the top of a building hosting a hotel and several stores. * 2009 x 2848 * (1.14MB)

04.Station.Main.Hall * The main hall. The Kyoto station is 470 meters long from east to west (the length you're seeing in the photo, from about the middle) and 70m high. * 1862 x 2793 * (1.19MB)
