05.Largo.di.Torre.Argentina * Largo di Torre Argentina is a square in Rome that hosts four Republican Roman temples, and the remains of Pompey's Theater. It is located in the ancient Campus Martius.
The name of the square comes from the Torre Argentina, which takes its name from the city of Strasbourg, whose original name was Argentoratum. 
In the area you can see the ruins of four temples (simply called A, B, C,D). On the extreme left, behind the columns belonging to the Temple B, you can see the east portico of the Pompey's Theater. That's where Julius Caesar was murdered by Brutus and Casca in the assassination plot lead by a group of senators. * 3783 x 2541 * (2.7MB)
